Angel d’Cuba is the artistic name of Cuban multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer Angel Luis Badell. He is currently based in Chicago, in the United States and his current music direction is a reflection of his Cuban background and Caribbean influences as well as music from the United States.

Heritage features fiery Cuban timba sung in Spanish and some of his songs are in this genre. However, Angel also explores the sounds of other Caribbean areas, such as calypso from Trinidad, reggaeton from Panama, and vallenato from Colombia, as well as samba from Brazil. From the United States he incorporates R&B and some English language vocals.

Back in Cuba, Angel Luis Badell was best known as the lead singer with the supergroup Mezcla, a renowned band that mixed Cuban traditional music with jazz, world music, soul, and rock.

Angel d’Cuba has released a splendid album with incredible energy, bringing together a surprising collection of musical influences.
